There will be an exciting opportunity for all Leeds CF members to go to a Question Time style event organised by Total Politics, where the well known and respected Conservative blogger Iain Dale will be host.
There will also be 4 excellent Panelists who will make the event exciting. They are David Davis the Conservative MP for Haltemprice and Howden David Davis, Greg Mulholland Liberal Democrat MP for Leeds North West, Rachel Reeves Prospective Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate for Leeds West, Godfrey Bloom Ukip MEP for Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.
NB: If you would like to have the chance to go to this excellent event please email as soon as possible questiontime@totalpolitics.com and request a ticket for the Leeds event.
We will be meeting at Leeds Train Station at 5.45pm so we will not be late for the event. The event is being held at City Inn Hotel Leeds which is about a five minute walk from the train station. If you would like more information about the event or to let us know who’s coming please go to the facebook event which has been created for this occasion. The link is here:
Leeds CF would like to thank everyone who came to the very succesfull action day yesterday to Elmet and Rothwell. There was an excellent turnout of people and it is days like this with your level of support which will really make a difference in helping the Conservative Candidate for Elmet and Rothwell Alec Shelbrooke get elected. We would love it if on the next action day in Leeds we got a similar turnout so we can help the 4 Candidates who are fighting in marginal seats become MPS and help the party win the next general election.
Once again thanks for all your help and we look forward to seeing you all at future events.
Leeds CF is taking advantage of the exceedingly cold winter this year to go Ice Skating.
We will be going to the ice cube in Leeds Millenium Square on Wednesday February 10th to take advantage of this fantastic place before it closes on the first week in March.
We will be meeting at 3.45pm in Millenium Square to go skating from 4-5.30pm. Lots of fun will be had, and you do not need any level of ability to go ice skating. This is all at the reasonable price of £7.50 per student. After the event we will heading for drinks at the weatherspoons opposite. This event is a great opportunity to meet new members and chat to old members. If you would like to go to this event please confirm your availability on the facebook event. We are really sorry about this but due to circumstances beyond our control the bowling night on the 4th February has had to been cancelled. We appreciate this is really late notice but there was nothing we could do about this.
We will still however be having a social on the 4th February which we would love as many people as possible to attend. We will now be going to Pizza Express, where we will be meeting at 7pm. This is the pizza express in leeds behind the corn exchange. We tried to get a later time but this was the only time available. Could you please confirm on the facebook group if you can make this as the restaurant needs to know the number of people who will be attending so we can book the table. This meal will be a good opportunity to meet cf members, have a good conversation with fellow cf members, and for new cf members to meet the team.
We will have our first action day of the year in Elmet and Rothwell in the area of Garforth on February 7th for the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Alec Shelbrooke. It would be great if we could get as many people as possible campaigning for Alec Shelbrooke on this day, in his attempt to win this seat for the Conservative Party. As this is an election year it would be brilliant to get a high level of turnout to start as we mean to go on.
We will be meeting at the Parkinson steps at 11am and the day will finish at 3pm. Do not worry about lifts as they will be sorted for everyone. If anyone has any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch with someone on the committee. get your bowling shoes at the ready for an action filled bowling adventure with leeds cf. The bowling night proved very popular, last semester so we are bringing it back for february 4th this term. We need as many people as possible to make it to make it really competitive.
It’s not expensive at all either, at £3.50 a game, its really good value. It’s at the AMF Merrion Centre in leeds city centre
Please can everyone try and get back to megan asap as she will have to book some lanes and pay a deposit.
Next Week on Wednesday the 27th January it is Holocaust Memorial Day. This is an important day to commemorate the 6 million jews who died, 2 million gypsies, and many others during world war 2, it is also to speak out against this genocide as we should when we see other genocides. Members are encouraged to attend the Holocaust Memorial Service at Leeds Univerity Union: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=264104621921&ref=nfThanks. All the details are here. There are also many other events on this week, relating to Holocaust memorial week which we would love as many Leeds Conservative Future members to attend as possible.
